We go where the ladders can’t.
As inspectors, there is no other replacement for inspecting a roof than actually climbing on it. However, when it comes to safety and areas of the roof that are not inspectable, other options may have to be considered.
If a roof cannot be mounted, a ladder, camera pole and most importantly a drone can be used. A drone is the second most useful tool in the industry. Drones enable our inspectors to reach new heights provide access to unsafe areas. Our Drones have been registered and have an FAA Certificate of Drone Registration.
Does new construction mean perfection? Of course not!
New doesn’t meant perfect. A house built from the ground up with your custom furnishings does not mean that things cannot go wrong and that a home inspection is not worth your time and money.
A new construction home inspection can provide valuable third-party insight into the home’s structure, systems and components and report any findings that the builder may need to repair prior to the close of the home.
Spend time enjoying your new home – not worrying!
Equally important is the 11-month warranty inspection. This is an opportunity to address items prior to the builder warranty expiring. Perhaps you didn’t do a new construction inspection, or the builder has not completed the initial walk-through items or perhaps new items have surfaced.
There may be items not discovered until you have lived in the home for a while and as the house settles. This is the perfect time to complete that inspection.Keep your family safe and healthy.
Radon comes from the decay of the radioactive elements, uranium and radium. Uranium is found in rocks, soil and water. It decays to radium which further breaks down into the radioactive gas, radon. Build-up of radon in homes is a health concern and many lung cancer cases are attributed to radon exposure each year. About 12% of lung cancers and more than 20,000 Americans die of radon-related lung cancer each year.
Keep your family safe today. Calling a home inspector is the only way to know for sure if your home is safe from the effects of radon.
The map illustrates which areas of Georgia has the highest potential for radon exposure.
Zone (1): Potential for radon levels above 4 pCi/L according to EPA
Zone (2): Potential for radon levels between 2 pCi/L and 4 pCi/L according to the EPA
Zone (3): Lowest EPA level with expected radon levels at or below 2 pCi/L

Infrared (thermal imaging) is an advanced, non-invasive technology that allows the inspector to show homeowners things about their homes that can’t be revealed using conventional inspection methods. Home Scan Home Inspections only uses the latest technology in the field. With the use of products by FLIR and Seek Thermal, we are able to elevate the inspection to a whole new level.
Thermal imaging reveals:
Hot spots
Moisture Intrusion
Energy Deficiency
Additionally, based on the color gradients that thermal images provide, an inspector can locate possible pest infestation, as revealed by energy loss through shelter tubes left by boring, wood-destroying insects. The IR camera also captures dangerous flue leaks, which can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning of the home’s residents.
Inspecting the unseen – with confidence.
Just as important as the structural integrity of the home should be to you, the indoor air quality should be, as well. The air in which your family breaths effects your family’s health.
The Indoor air quality (IAQ) is the air quality within and around buildings and structures. IAQ is known to affect the health, comfort and well-being of building occupants. Compromised indoor air quality can effect each individual differently.
IAQ can be affected by gases (including carbon monoxide, radon, volatile organic compounds), particulates, microbial contaminants (mold, bacteria), or any mass or energy stressor that can induce adverse health conditions. Residential units can further improve indoor air quality by routine cleaning of carpets and area rugs.
Home Scan Home Inspections is accredited by the International Association of Indoor Air Consultants to perform various indoor air quality tests. Determination of IAQ involves the collection of air samples, swabs, or tape
